New XAMPP for Windows with MySQL 5

Last week we released a new version of XAMPP for Linux providing the new MySQL 5 software. Today we also can announce a new version for Windows containing the new version of MySQL.

Also new in the Windows version of XAMPP: upgraded version of Apache (2.0.55), PHP (4.4.1), phpMyAdmin (2.6.4-pl3) and OpenSSL (0.9.8a).

XAMPPがバージョンアップしてた。最近リリースされたMySQL5に対応している。
またセキュリティホールが報告されているPHPもバージョンアップされている。

僕がインストールしたXAMPPは、ZIPファイルから解凍⇒インストールした環境なので、基本的にファイルを消せばOKのようだ。

XAMPPのreadme_en.txtより抜粋

Step 5: XAMPP UNINSTALL? Simply remove the "xampp" Directory.
But before please shutdown the apache and mysql.

ただしApacheやMySQLをサービスに登録している場合は、当然登録解除が必要だし、ファイル削除時にはXAMPP（Apache、MySQLも含む）の停止が必要である。

ちなみにXAMPPの1.4と1.5はさほど使い方が変わらない。
